We ensure patients’ involvement in all aspects of their care and obtain informed consent for treatment. Patients are treated in a manner that preserves their dignity, autonomy, self-esteem, civil rights, and involvement in their own care. We are fair and open in our dealings with patients. Patients, or their representatives, are provided a clear explanation of their care, including diagnosis, treatment plan, their right to refuse or accept care, care decision dilemmas, estimates of treatment costs, and explanations of the risks and benefits associated with available treatment options.
