Diagnostic Solutions

Bart McDonald, ECS and his partners Ryker Spackman, ECS and Jesse Peterson, D-EDX are trained healthcare professionals who between them have over 3 decades of experience. They have been performing nerve conduction studies since 2015.

Why Choose Us?

Our EMG testing follows the standard requirements of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine( AANEM). We offer expedited scheduling to perform the test as quickly as possible with real-time results. Our tests are very thorough and detailed to direct clinicians with treatment in the most effective way. We are board-certified specialists in NCS/EMG Testing and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

Hands on Diagnostics

We are a HODS Approved Physical Therapy Diagnostic Centers

Most physical therapists use the traditional model of physical therapy that includes an initial evaluation and treatments based on the initial evaluation findings.

The HODS Approved Physical Therapy Diagnostic Centers use a New Advanced Model of physical therapy that offers 62% better patient management!

This new model incorporates appropriate muscle, joint and nerve testing that provide information about the true cause of your problem. The HODS Approved Diagnostic Physical Therapists utilize not only a physical examination but also Advanced Diagnostic Testing Technologies to identify the root of your problem and treat you in the most efficient way.

Performing in Your Office

Our diagnostics team can see patients right in your office, or at our Pocatello, American Falls, Idaho Falls or Rexburg locations. Coming to your office gives patients ease of access and facilitates communication between patient, provider, and diagnostician.

Demyelination

A demyelination injury is any condition that results in damage to the protective covering( myelin sheath) that surrounds nerve fibers. When the myelin sheath is damaged, nerve impulses slow and can even stop causing neurological problems and symptoms. Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, weakness, muscle spasms, vision impairments, coordination and balance issues, burning, stabbing, electric shock-type pains, bladder or bowel dysfunctions, and fatigue. Treatments can include physical therapy, steroids, medications, and IV therapy.

Axon Loss/Damage

Axon loss/damage is when the inner portion of the nerve fiber has become injured and is no longer functioning properly. This will cause the inability of the nerve to supply the muscles and sensory organs. Axonal loss usually happens to just a portion of the nerves still allowing the patient to function but with possible weaknesses and sensory deficits.

Conduction Block

Conduction block is a type of nerve injury where the nerve is compressed to the point where it can no longer fully pass a signal. This is a temporary weakness to the muscles with numbness and tingling.

Entrapment

  • Fibular nerve impingement most often occurs when the peroneal nerve is compressed at the fibular head.
  • Symptoms may include decreased sensation, numbness, or tingling at the top of the foot or the outer part of the upper or lower leg.

Treatment can include physical therapy and in some cases surgical interventions
